I am pretty new, but I always use walking foot to sew on binding.

A walking foot is very helpful for attaching binding, yes, but I don't always use one.

    Welcome from NW Wisconsin!

Hi from another Missouri Quilter! Welcome to the Quilting Board. I'm SE of Springfield! I hope you find your answer. My machine had a walking foot built in and I don't seem to have problems with the puckering. Have you tried using clippies (the kind you put in your hair) instead of pins to help hold the binding in place? I know it sounds silly but it seems to help me! Good luck. :)

Howdy from Springfield, MO. I don't use a walking foot, but when sewing (by machine) on my binding, I pull just a tad on the binding (bias binding) and never had a problem with puckering. Then I hand stitch the back of the binding.
