According to this article, one would only need four colors to not have any colors touch each other.

Hi Dina, my name is Lori. I am very new to quilting, I am still working on my first one. I want to tell you how much I love your quilt. I love the colors, they just pop and you have done an awesome job on it. I would love to make it, was it very hard to make? Where did you get your fat quarters from?

I finally broke down and bought this pattern, since every time I see it I love it. (Plus, I couldn't seem to figure the block out from pictures!
) I'm really looking forward to trying it. Looking at yours, Dina, I'm thinking that with all the purples I seem to have, I may build it around them.

This is pictures of two "Turning Twenty" quilts I have made and think that the greater variety of fabrics, the better but also feel it is a matter of personal choice.

I like that TAKE 5 pattern and use it to make charity quilts too. Uses up some small pieces from leftovers very well too. Have made the Yellow B RD also . My kind of easy quilts without using tiny scraps.

Lori, I didn't buy fat quarters. I bought a half yard of fabric and made 2 fat quarters of each. The Yellow Brick Road I made called for 12 fat quarters, so I bought 6 1/2 yard pieces. No, it wasn't hard to make, but I found an easier pattern that makes a similar quilt. It is called Take Five. Let me find a picture of it, in case it interests you. It is a pattern that isn't available free, but then neither is Yellow Brick Road.
