I make a lot of quilts with black and use Sewline ceramic markers specially manufactured for the purpose.

I use my sewline ceramic pencil- nice clear lines (ceramic leads come in white, green, pink) shows up well, doesn't skip, removes easily. Fons & Porter also sells the same pencil (it's a mechanical pencil you put the 'leads' in-easy to use)

I use a Bohin mechanical pencil with white lead on dark fabrics. Not nearly as chalky as some other similar marking tools and is a very fine line. Now granted, I hand quilt vs machine but you might want to give it or something similar a try.

I just used the dark ceramic F+P pencil on yellow ... love it for the ease of use and thin line.
But how do you get it off now?
I was told to spritz and rub a little, but no, it doesn't. Any suggestions?
    Please? and Thanks!
