You can always wait a while and then make a lower offer, see if they bite.

Elaine says we need more pics of cabinets.

On the Necchi BU storage drawers did you all notice the broken rubber band belt? That's why I dislike them so much.

That isn't a problem Miriam. If I wanted to put a different machine in it DH would just fill in the original spaces and create new ones to fit the machine I wanted to put into it. I am glad he loves woodwork and tinkering with cabinets.

That broken belt is why I got it so cheap, the guy said the machine was broken...Actually just the belt was broken. I also read somewhere that they put a lot of extra wear on the motor? I have ordered a lot of new belts and none were a stretch belt. Maybe there are machines out there that require stretch belts?

For most normal machine/motor configurations, a stretch belt shouldn't add any extra wear on the motor.

Stretch belts are likely so prevalent, because no one knows where to go to get a regular one, and wouldn't even know what size to get if they did know where to go, and the stretch belts are what are available at JoAnn's and WalMart.

First time I've seen that sort of cabinet. Cool design and a ton of storage compared to the regular style. I just don't see $300 for the combo though unless you REALLY love it. My favorites are the enclosed treadle machine cabinets.

Actually, stretch belts do add a bit of extra work to the motors. They're not preferable to other belts for that reason.
