flannel quilts

I made a flannel top and back quilt and used a Werm and Natural cotton batt. My DH and the boys fight or it. It is the softest, snuggliest thing in the house. I now have to make each of the boys one for their own or I will have to listen to more arguing.

My first quilt was crib size for baby granddaughter. It is flannel front and back with warm and natural batting. Was easy to quilt on a basic mechanical old singer. She is 10 and a half and that quilt is still on her bed and has been washed a gazillion times and she loves it. She is in WA state and she layers it with other blankets in winter.

I make lots of flannels quilts- they are my favorite---and I always use batting- often Hobbs Heirloom 80/20, sometimes some other cotton batting- when it's a special quilt for a special person I splurge & use hobbs or Dream Wool. I love my flannel quilts to be soft, fluffy/lofty and cozy!

I just made my first rag quilt, and used a thin batting in each of the blocks (Pellon Nature's Touch). Even though we live in nice, warm, sunny (most of the time) Southern California, it is the perfect weight for cuddling on the couch with. http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...t-t235900.html
Good luck!
