I made some gift bags for the larger gifts and thought I would get them back to put gifts in next year but no one would part with the bags -- they said they are a gift too. As long as they like them, I guess.
Great memories for you, huh? I am going to start making fabric bags for gift wrapping.

I make rice bags (filled with uncooked rice) to be heated in the microwave and tucked in bed with them. They hold the heat for a while. I use rice bags at home all the time. This whole thing got started when they (DGD and DGS)were spending some time with us and one them had a tummy ache. I heated mine up and laid it next to them and soon they were asleep. Next day they wanted me to sew one for them so they could take them home. They each now have 2 rice bags for their beds that match their newly made pillowcases. It is now part of their bedtime ritual... heating the rice bags before bed.

P.s. Re: rice bags. I read somewhere that feed corn holds the heat longer. I have used rice bags and have loved them. So I'm going to give the corn a shot as soon as I can get my hands on some....Farm Fleet maybe?
