Did a quick search and there are several Yahoo groups for specific Juki models, you might check this source of information out-1000% more helpful than that dealer anyway

BJ Chad.....I'm from CT. NJ Quilter has family here and I had asked where. It turns out that they are about an hour from me. Kind of cool! It's a small world...truly! You two are from NJ, could be part of the same guild or groups there. That would be neat! My guild I will be joining is in RI, that's actually closer to me than any of the CT guilds.

For exactly thepoints you made I just couldn't shake that it was kind of like goingdown the road I just went down before. It seems that when companiesget bought out, they go down the tubes. I'm wondering if it willspell trouble for Janome ultimately too?

ClairVoyantqQuilter I purchased two so I could have one formy piecing and regular sewing and the other for FMQ. They are bothabout the same for throat space (which isn't that generous but,better than some) but the 2010 is better suited for a quilt framethan the F600. I plan to save for a quilt frame down the road. SinceI do some other types of sewing, I wanted the fancy stitches of acomputerized machine yet I also wanted the FMQ benefits of the 2010model. The Janome would have covered both of these bases but foralmost twice the amount of money around here based on the only dealernearby (and that was my original dealer who was not giving me a gooddeal AT ALL. I really just don't want to do business with them everagain). So, that is the reasoning behind two.

Sorry to hear that your dealer is not helpful. Guess he gets away with it because he has no competition. Good dealers provide instructions to their buyers. Instruction is often built into price on high end machines - that's why you have to take the lessons from the seller. Happy sewing.
