    Thanks, Lynnie! That was my first attempt at working with wool and doing the blanket stitch by hand. I have improved a lot since then! The lighthouse was a gift from some fellow teachers when I left one school district for another. One of my most treasured items.

    Have a very similar swing out sewing cabinet...don't know it's age either, but sits regally beside my winged chair where I do my hand sewing....currently hexies....

    I'd agree with the 1930's-40's. Is it a veneer finish? There were quite a few furniture manufacturers in the NE part of the USA that made furniture with veneers in that time frame.
