Oh oh...I have one of those machines...it's my main machine...I've been worried about a board going as it's been sewing alot for a long time. With the cost of $300 for the part, I would think about getting a new machine...IMHO..

Thanks for all your suggestions. I think it might be a fuse since I did all the suggestions before I felt defeated. I have someone that will look at it Tues. I hope it is just the fuse. I won't put big money in it for sure.

Have you priced Bernina's lately? $300 won't buy anything.

I hope it is not a fortune to have it repaired. This ever happen to anyone else out there? If so, what was the problem?
I had the same thing happen to my 180 a couple of years ago - can see a faint bit of backlight on the screen when I turn it on, but nothing works. Checking with a local Bernina dealer, I was quoted $1000 minimum for the board and they would have to take my machine's board and send it out to have it repaired as Bernina doesn't stock new boards. I found this wasn't an uncommon issue on the 180. Perhaps the 160 is less to repair, but for $1000 and no guarantee it would last, I opted to buy a new machine (and a different brand).
