I made a quilt using a Moda cake layer pack and just stitched the squares together, added a border. It was soft pastel prints and it turned out very pretty and went together quickly.

I have not done it with 10" blocks, but I have with the 5" and I was very happy how it turned out. I set it on point just to give it a little extra something

I saw this video on You Tube several weeks ago. This looks like a great pattern for 10 inch squares. I have not made it but it is on my to-do list.

My Daughter made one last year. She alternated print squares with solid squares. It looked great.

I made a quilt with just 10" squares some time ago. It wasn't twin size, but it was gorgeous. It was a charity quilt, long ago given away. One of the fast/popular QOV patterns is all 10" blocks.

It will be a treasure, not just 'ok'!

I have made several quilts for Lutheran World Relief using 11" squares with half inch seams, resulting in their regulation size of approximately 60 x 80. Borders could be added.
I am always surprised how nice they turn out. I think boys would like a quilt like that instead of one that looks "fussy". As a friend told me, her daughter wanted her high school graduation quilt to be one that did not look like a quilt.

I have made several quilts of just 10 in squares pieced together and they can be beautiful. I saw one of these in a shop years ago. I asked to purchase the exact fabric and it had completely sold out with customers wanting this quilt. It had no neutral blocks and many different but beautiful fabrics. The quilting was row by row and was a small feather pattern. I display several quilts in my home but this big block quilt gets the most attention. I use well coordinated fabric and a 8 inch border. A small border looks out of place

my daughter wanted to make a quilt over her holiday break, she chose to do simple 12" squares in large print winter fabrics. it was her first quilt and it came out beautiful! Go for it!
