Fat Quarter Shop is one of my favorites because of ease of use and excellent fabric representation. If you click on the 'Shop Fabric by . . .' and choose theme, you can choose both 'backgrounds and neutrals' for your white on white, and 'solids,' and I don't know any site with a better selection of solids. Then if you choose 'color', you'll be able to choose what color you want to search for, and be shown solids, and prints that have that color in them.

Fabric Shack also has an excellent color search engine; if you type 'blue' in the search box, you'll get page upon page of prints with blue in them. With Fabric Shack, you can scroll down the entire list of fabric lines and see by the picture of the group what sort of fabrics they are. I believe they are listed by most recent on top. They will most likely have a fabric line of white on white.

Have you tried looking at PB Textiles at their Rambling collections (There are four I think) ? These are all their White on White and are shown in "black and white" so you can see the design. Then if you like a particular design you can google the number under the picture.

I love fabric.com. I have also found that 5buckayard.com is also a good place to shop for fabrics. Like you I can get lost shopping for fabrics online. I try my best not to do it too.

Cali Quilt Co on Etsy is my favorite, great mom & pop shop with super fast shipping and wonderful customer service, I've been a regular for years (they used to be called Stitch Stash Diva)

I like Fabric.com as well, it seems for me like their shipping takes forever which used to drive me crazy but on the last 3 orders they've given me the last almost yard off the bolt for free (I ordered 1 yard and they sent me 1.75 yards) and they did it twice in all 3 orders.
