I work on my own Muriel...Ive always been able to sew but taught myself quilting about 3 years ago. At the moment Ive got a handkerchief quilt on the go. Ive had all my friends and family collecting pretty hankies so its well on its way now! Where do you get your fabric from? I get most of mine online. I have found a place that sells for £5.30 a metre, (that includes the packaging) Its in Scarborough. If you want details please let me know. ...Lovely to "meet" you!

Karen. I buy a lot of fabric on-line. I used to buy mostly from a couple of USA suppliers but of course recently the exchange rate hasn't been so good. I sometimes go to Hannah's Room in Brierley near Barnsley and I love Quilt Essentials at the Arkwright mill at Cromford. Actually after buying twice as much fabric as I really need for most projects I have a big stash of fabric and I will never be able to use it up in the time I have left to quilt. Do you know about the Fabric Guild at Leicester. Good prices and a huge selection.

I'm a big fan. Working on some blocks currently with some of the border prints.

I am always so blown away with the subtle colour blending Jinny achieves. I bought her book on colour some years ago but it was too much for me to take in at that stage. I cheat and use her colour palette to help me and for this latest project I bought her border fabric-used the palette to work out the colour range within it and then tried to find other fabrics within that range. So far it looks good, but I haven't finished sewing it yet.

I LOVE Jinny Byer, and anything she has ever done. So far I have been afraid to try any of her things. Stores near me don't sell her fabrics.
Love hearing from quilters who live in other countries.
