Fabric Moratorium 2024
#242
I've pretty much been off the board for a couple of years, but came back on for the Bonnie Hunter mystery. I'm committed to reading and posting regularly as I need the on-line community. I also plan on being active in this thread next year. OK - that being said, even though I haven't been on this thread have been following the principles. No fabric purchased this year except to fill in for a particular quilt, and not very much. I estimate I've purchased around 15 yards all year. BUT (tada!) I've used over 250 yards from stash and gave away around 50 yards to two friends who make charity quilts. That still leaves me with an enormous amount of fabric, but I'm making a dent.
I'm attaching pics of a few quilts I've made this year. Mine are mostly charity quilts so are large throw size.

And here a few others.
Edit: I uploaded the wrong pic but don't know how to remove it -- so ignore the first one. It should have been the blue sizzle quilt top.

good to see you again Belfry!
at odd times yesterday I decluttered my laptop "quilty ideas" folders, +100 images gone, now that I have the accuquilt my ideas have changed. Decluttered my PDF saved files, got rid of all the saved block of the weeks I've been doing this year. I run my email pretty lean but deleted all the trash.
a small thing I do every December that just makes me feel lighter
even though it isn't fabric. This year I've used about 1/2 of my saved strings in projects, and nearly all my selvedges (sob)
seasons best and best wishes on all our organizing efforts in 2025

Belfry, I love how you used the scrappy 9-patches in the borders of that quilt with the horses. And I'm pretty sure I have once owned that paisley in your first picture. Thanks for the quilt show! The best ideas come from what other quilters have made.

Wow, Belfrybat, what a great way to finish up the year - by visually celebrating stash that made it out the door - and what a spectacular collection of quilts! Thanks so much for sharing - looking forward to seeing your posts in next year's thread. :-)
