Okay, I’m way behind, still working on the Flying Geese. But now that I see the later clues, I have to ask y’all a question.

I’ve been using a variety of pinks, purples, and blues, but only one consistent white. Now that I see the blocks being made with the hourglass blocks, do you think it would be okay to use some scrappy white prints for the centers of those squares, when all my other white will just be the same? Or should I just stick to the WoW being the centers?

Quossum, my personal opinion is that it would be fine to use scrappy white prints for the centers, since the centers are a very distinct aspect of the design. But actually, even if you ran out of your consistent white, I think it would be alright to switch to scrappy for general use, too. There's always so much going on in a Bonnie mystery, it's like a camouflage for our inconsistencies.

Well that’s darn good because I’m going to have a whole lotta inconsistencies! I’m taking my time and really trying to make each step as good as I can make it.

Quossum - I'm sure your units are fine - even better than fine. Bonnie's mysteries are a learning process and an opportunity to sharpen our sewing skills. Enjoy the process and be proud of all you accomplished along the way!

Quossom, part of what makes each of these projects our own are our fabric decisions. I think those center squares are a great time to add in some extra fabrics.

Those that wait to join get to see us work out some of the design and get the benefit from us sharing what we are doing

Last year on Old Town I was able to put together my stars from the same fabrics. Most people had the more scrappy Bonnie look. This year I think those half rectangles are coming back again as star points in sashing and another choice of matching or not matching and forming an interacting design... but I've been wrong before!

I didn't get much done over the weekend, Still have just under a third of the Rectangles to sew, they all need to be trimmed. I'm hoping maybe to put together some blocks on the 25th as a present to myself. I might not be caught up by Friday but I'm slowly catching up.

I happened to notice that from the time I started the mysteries, they alternate from straight setting to on point year by year. So that would make this year on point if the pattern holds. It's been a long time since I did any sewing. The cutting of clue #5 kept me very busy, and I've been getting a quilt ready to send out for quilting.

Well yay me, I'm almost caught up! I do have all my clue 4 together, but really have a day ahead of me of pressing and trimming.

But I'm just going to take a break from that for a couple of days and start to put some blocks together tomorrow... still redoing Christmas albums and having fun singing along. Hubby has Wednesday off, but will be working tomorrow so hopefully I can get a bunch done without feeling like I'm ignoring him... My sewing group is done for the year, would have been lovely to take these trimmings to that, I'd be able to sit in my chair and get a lot accomplished.

Hope everyone is having fun or peace or whatever they are looking for!
