This last month I bought more Barbie doll fabric. I plan to make a full size reversible quilt for my grandniece, per mom’s request. I just need to shop my stash to find purple fabric for sashing. Then I can start sewing. I also bought a finishing kit for 2 BOMs, and yardage for a future BOM FPP. Plus a pre-cut cotton cuts mystery QAL. Once I get these done, not sure who will receive the finished products. I guess time will tell.

I almost ordered the special 118" precut backing on Missouri Star website this morning but caught myself as I really don't need it but I'm sure I could find a use for it one of thees days.

So far I've still only had to order backings for my quilts so staying true to myself with not buying fabrics since October 2018. Plus I'm finally getting some of these quilts finished and sent out to the recipents. My goal is to get as many if not all of them finished by the end of the year and luckily I've got their backings already as well as battings. So far I've finished 8 quilts since March, one of those quilts had been sitting on the frame since April 2023 so it's done and upstairs as it was for my spare bedroom. I made 5 over sized lap quilts plus 1 queen quilt plus 1 wall hanging plus 1 quilt that could be considered twin size since January all using what I have in my stash. I finally made room for the fabrics I bought on that bus quilt tour back in early October 2018 so now I can see what I have to use. So I am making headway.

I didn't post this enabling link in this thread before, but if you are still hankering after some 118" wide, the eQuilter backing sale has been extended to Wednesday. Only a few 118, most are 108, but there are some. Deal is 25% off, free postage after $100 (which isn't hard to do with a couple of backs). Solids and flannels are not included.

Some impressive willpower and completions there, Snooze! Just goes to show it IS possible! :-)

Sneaky Iceblossom with your wideback promotion, but in all fairness, many of our best stash-only users need backings to finish their otherwise stash-only quilts, so getting a deal will surely help them!

Missouri Star Quilts had a sale on 118" 3yd cut backing that I almost gave in for but backed out at the last minute. Very pretty backing too and who can't use more neutral fabrics? I use my leftover backing fabrics in my quilts too. Heck years ago I found a really pretty purple with black checked backing and ordered 10 yards. So far I've backed 2 queen quilts plus their borders, 1 oversized lap quilt plus their border and have enough to make the bed skirt on the queen bed so you won't realize where the border stops and the skirt starts. And I'll probably still have some large enough scrapes to add to another quilt in the future.
Backings are your friends especially at the price you can order them for.

I'm doing pretty good on not succumbing to fabric temptation. I am still cutting my current project and have used a number of little scraps for the last time.

Yesterday at sewing group, one of the ladies brought a really lovely bag made from one of my give away fabrics, and lined from one of the yardages from when my favorite quilt store was closing last month. It was a really awesome large scale slightly grayed red and black print, and the bag she chose was the perfect pattern. I loved the fabric but could never figure out what to do with it.

Is nice to see those yardages out in the real world and not in my stash!

My email from Missouri Star stated this is the last day to get $30 off on $100 order. Sorry for the temptation. I only ordered the minimum...

Thanks for sharing some good backing stories, all! And lovely to think your "What do I do with this?" fabric has been appreciated and used in other quarters, Iceblossom! :-)
