Yes, I have been reading over a lot of the tutorials and the one on the "scant 1/4 seam," was at this point the most beneficial as that would explain why even some of my little projects dont't quite match up no matter how hard I try! Now I know! Thanks:)
I like this. This is exactly what I did to learn to quilt first. I took out every book the library had and read them. Then I signed up for a quilt class at the local quilt store. Learned so much from that class. But I had to learn to cut on my own and also to sew that darn scant 1/4 seam. Took forever to learn that. Welcome to the board from Illinois. and Good Luck.

Can't wait to see some of your work. Look for books on scrappy quilts. They are great on a tight budget. Take donations of fabrics from friends and family. Even old clothes can be turned into quilts.

Welcome from Maryville, TN! I, too, have recently started quilting and have learned most of what I know about quilting from this board. I am amazed at how much good information I have found here. You'll learn so much here.
