I also sew barefoot. If I'm wearing shoes, I slip one off to press the pedal. It just seems easier to control speed that way.

I now have to wear slippers or clogs in the house but when I sew the slipper or shoe comes off my right foot. Even when I go to a quilt class, the shoe has to come off. If I were to test drive a machine, yep, the shoe would come off then too. I'm just extra careful about pins and my rotary cutter.

My feet hurt without shoes. I can't even walk in socks without hurting. I wear moccasins around the house and while sewing.

Yep, I kick off my slippers when I sew - just doesn't feel right if I don't - its become habit that I don't even notice that I've kicked my shoes off until I get up.

I use flip flops in the house, but slip them off to sew.

I was just yesterday thinking about asking this same question. I have to sew barefoot or in my stocking feet. I need to feel the pedal otherwise I just don't feel I have enough control. It works for me. I try to be very careful about the pins. My 2 yr. old GD like to be in my sewing room and I would feel terrible if she got stuck. Although I have to watch her around my pincushion. She's fascinated with the colorful little tops. Wants to take each one out and put it back in again. With each one she says " it give me owie?" It's like a game to her. But, I watch her so carefully when she is in my "ROOM" . I never leave her alone in there. Accidents happen to quickly and there are so many things in there she could get an "owie" on.

I wear slippers in the house in the winter, but I nearly always take them off to sew. I find that I'm more accurate with my speed when I wear only socks or bare feet.

I like to sew barefoot or in socks. I can't really "feel" the presser foot with shoes on and just am generally more comfy without. Of course, we don't wear shoes in the house either, so it is pretty normal for me to be padding around in socks. I am very fastidious about keeping my floor clean in my sewing room - I do not want to be the gal posting a picture of a needle through my foot!!!

I always have to kick off my R shoe. I can use socks to sew and whenn I go to classes I always have a pair of socks in my case. I can still feel the pedal.
