I think some vegetarians might eat fish. Vegans do not. There is a difference between Vegetarians and Vegans -- that is the reason they asked if you ate fish.

Vegetarians don't eat meat. Vegans don't use any animal products, including chicken broth, cheese, leather and down pillows, etc. If you eat meat, you're not a vegetarian. If you don't eat mammals, but you eat fish, you're a pescetarian.
