I have my room painted a very soft Ivory on three walls , and my most favourite colour green on the wall I face my machine at, lots of natural light and filled with all my most treasured quilting things . Cathy

Something pale or a deep shade that won't reflect the light onto your design wall, or wherever you put your fabrics together. My room is a deep sage green and I haven't had any problems with colors reflecting.

mine is a light aqua color. I love it although I haven't actually sewn in it yet. this was taken before the tile was laid.

My quilting studio is MY room, so it is painted hot pink ... why, you might ask ... I love hot pink! It is filled with book cases around two walls where I store stuff. I made valances for the windows out of girly angels on pink fabric. It makes me smile every time I go in there. I'm sure I am breaking all kinds of decorating rules, but it's my room, it makes me happy. Point is ... paint it whatever color you want and encourages your creativity.

I'm a commercial artist and when working with color the walls have to be non reflective white. Even clothing should not reflect any color. That being said.....my sewing room is sea green!

Just keep in mind that surrounding color will change your perception of the fabric with which your working.

I would think that the right color would be whatever makes YOU happy - not what WE think.
