It's always hard for me to come up with a quilting design, and this quilt is ultra special - so it needs a very special design. For the center star, I've seen each diamond done with a curved line inside each side of the diamond. Very effective, and it doesn't take away from the star design. Yours appears to have strips too, so perhaps streamers/ribbons (curvy overlapping lines) inside each? Or maybe quilt more diamonds as if there were diamonds there too. I would outline the applique, and then do something soft (McTavishing?) in the background to make the applique pop. Then maybe some triangles that kind of connect the blue triangles in the border, in a chain formation? Look at greenfairy's site - she does some really spectacular quilting (and she has a new book out that I'm dying to buy). Or Angela Walters (quiltingismytherapy) is another good source of inspiration. At times like this I usually go through the pictures I've taken at quilt shows too, to find ideas. I can hardly wait to see this quilt when it's finished - it will be extraordinary!

Beautiful colors, fantastic piecing, sure quilting will be great! I might finish out the background of the flowers to look like the diamond pattern continues. Not sure about the borders.
