Most of your major companies carry solids maywood has some really nice whites and the quality is great. I personally dont use allot of solids i like movement in my quilts. And being a fabriholic I love it all. I am fortunate to work and order fabrics in my job so get to fondle fabric every day. Life is good

My local fabric store has a backing 118" wide in a sateen. Nice drape, thicker than most. Just picked up more black for strip piecing and a beige for a backing. I'm sure they would have a white too. It has an almost silky feel to the fabric too. That's going to be my basic solid whites and blacks from now on as I found out they carry it all the time.

I'm working with some American Made brand white right now. I have to say, I like it better than both Kona and Moda Bella. The color choices are limited, but their white is a nice true white. I may have to buy a bolt of it.

I love Moda Bella solids. I have their color chart and it is so handy for matching the correct shade for your projects. Kona also has a color chart, if that is your fabric choice.
