I've seen pics where someone glued a tiny washer right there to run the thread through so it can't jump out of the slot.

Funny you should say that. My 1975 Bernina Record does not like Coats & Clark made in Mexico either. It literally jumps out of it threading configuration. I don't understand why just that thread work that was but it does.

Isn't it wonderful having creative DH who work with wood? My DH make thread holders for me.
