    I am so sorry for your friend's loss, and for the entire community as a whole. He will be missed in so many ways and by so many friends and neighbors and family. I think any color or pattern would be appropriate and also think the idea of letting his family know that you thought of the young man with every stitch and choice. May God Bless you all.

    Wait awhile and since it is a freind you could ask her if she would like you to make ger a quilt out of her sons shirts. I have made some memoery quilts for families at hospice and they love them

    I think blue hearts would be a comfort but also after a few months I would ask for his tshirts or clothing N make a quilt, I've done a few for friends and they love and appreciate them..
