I am seeing tons of the 1 3/8" pins but am not finding the longer 1 7/8"
    pins, except online.
Anyone have a preference between the long or short pins? I thought the longer pins had a slightly thicker shaft.
    Thank you.

I have Karen Kay Buckley's Perfect pins and Bohn pins-both are thin and sharp. Wouldn't use anything else.

Pins do get dull, don't forget to use the little strawberry on your tomato pincushion. They do help some.
