Belfry -- that is a beautiful border fabric!! I love the jewel tones of the fabrics you have chosen. Perhaps an Orange to contrast with the yellow to replace the blue that doesn't really contrast with the dark blue in this picture?

Hmm. I hadn't thought about orange, although it is in the border fabric. The reason for the two close blues is I was afraid one FQ wouldn't be enough so I figured on using two different ones if needed, but not in the same block. I'll pull an orange and put it with the "collection" and probably decide as we go along. Thanks for the feedback.

I heard from Aby Dolinger herself after signing up for blog updates.
She really is sweet and approachable and talented to boot. And she's excited to see so many folks interested in this BOM project!
Aby asked if it's possible for her to post the Optimism quilt design here on this thread in this forum, since this would negate any copyright infringement concerns.
Are there rules or concerns about pattern or quilt designers posting?

Thanks, everyone, for your excitement about my "Optimism" BOM offered free on my blog, abyquilts.wordpress.com. I plan to post instructions for two 15" blocks on the first of each month, January-October 2025. You can choose to make all 20 blocks for a queen size quilt, or make 12 blocks for a twin size quilt. Background information of sizes and fabrics required as well as computer drawings of the quilts are already posted on the "Optimism 2025 BOM" page of my blog. (Click on the tab in the menu.) I will ask for pictures of your blocks attached to an email mid-month, and I'll show some of your creations in a subsequent blog post. Of course you may post pictures here on Quilt Forum as well.

I will allow it. i got dizzy trying to figure out whether it broke any of our rules. [chuckles and winks]

I'm going to make a serious attempt, this reminds me of the block of the month that we did here on the QB back in 2013. I missed doing different blocks just for fun. Thank you Aby for sharing your knowledge. Next to decide totally scrappy or controlled?
