Well I'm happy to say I've got all my blocks stitched and pressed and are ready to trim down to 4.5" for the Exploding Heart pattern. Made a big booboo on the group D blocks but found a way around it so I didn't have to rip out all the stitching. I've stopped working on this project as it's Saturday and I need to get back to the quilt machine. I've already got the backing and batting attached and will get the top attached this morning. This is the dinosaur quilt for a little 4 yo boy who loves dinosaurs. I was having issues on my decision on how to quilt the body of the quilt but after chatting with a couple friends, I now know to use my bubble E2E pattern. I added extra sides to widen this quilt using the leftover scraps so there I have 2 patterns to chose from but I do know I'll change thread color to match the color family just to add a little jazz to the quilt. The dinosaurs are nice and bright and the background is a dark dusty black so I'm using black thread. The backing is a black/grey/cream sort of like oil and water pattern. So wish me luck that it will come out nicely. I had to stop quilting due to our blizzard here in Iowa on Wednesday. Then on Thursday I noticed my power line had been pulled off the house so I had to wait for an electrician and the power company to put it back so I didn't bother turning on any of my machines just in case. In fact, I pulled the plugs from the wall to be extra careful about it. Now I'm back to normal, the sun is melting the snow as we speak and I can safely get back to quilting.

Aashley333, if you plan to stitch through/edge stitch the appliqué you might choose Heat’n Bond Lite instead of the other. Or will this project just be fused on with no stitching?

I did get the top stitched together yesterday and stay stitched, and started to piece the backing. This sunflower panel fabric is old, but in the right light, does look nice with the front, I didn’t take the time to spread it out nicely as the grand dog was wanting back in the house 😜

Boy the spammers have sure been having a field day lately with this forum, when I looked about 2 am, it was flooded again with them, so reported but I have no idea what time zones any of the moderators are in, thankful to have it cleared out again for the moment.

Oh My Goodness!! That was so much fun!! I guess I learned a lot more than just following the pantograph lines while using my friend's machine. I stopped trying to control the longarm with two hands and used just my right--as if I was behind the machine. What a difference! I will never be afraid of FMQ again!!

I purposely chose a contrasting thread but the fabric is very busy and I don't know if the stitching will really show up in a photo. The top fabric has been in my stash for at least 15 years. I made my DD a couple of scrub tops from it way back then. The back is flannelette that was printed so off kilter, I could not find another use for it. But I think it will make an acceptable donation baby quilt. Now to trim and bind!

AND! I got an email with a tracking number for my rear handles. They should be here next week! I am beyond excited!

*Two of four Boom blocks Finished.
    *Binding on hospice quilt finished.

    Tomorrow.....
    Labels for two hospice quilts
    Make two remaining Boom blocks.

Thimblebug..... lovely colors for the Pat Sloan March Block a Day. That should make a stunning quilt. I thought about making it but.... too many starts and not enough finishes in my sewing room at the moment.

Yes, the spammers are busy again. They seem to come in waves. I have reported the same name on multiple threads on on multiple days this week. The messages all seem to be removed withing a couple of hours. The admins are on the job!

@thimblebug6000 I'm not clear on the sunflowers, is that the back for the dynamic log top?

@GingerK some child will love the happy critters and the cuddly back. Isn't learning a new thing a happy dance?

Cali & Co Mystery based Focus Fabric Fruit: cut 2-3/4 y supporting fabrics. Finished 2 blocks & worked on 11 more. The 8-1/2" blocks are framed with two strips. I need to cut more strips, both inner and outer. My inner strip is black & I need to prewash black fabric. I also need to cut more 2-1/2" HST, I need more variety, some blocks take 16, I only have 8-9 cut.

Still doing HST's for Spring Fling quilt, maybe another 10% done on sampler quilt. Due to windy conditions, we were without power for a couple hours in the morning ( usually my most productive time of day) but I started to organize patterns into notebooks . Longarming information, quilts I have done, quilts I want to do, kid's patterns, QOV/patriotic patterns and miscellaneous bag/table runner/ interesting smaller projects. Now, if I could just get things picked up again...

@quiltmouse the sunflowers will be the backing for the yellow and blue top.

Snapped a couple of quick WIP pics. The sketch might be too light to see well. I enlarged a section of an original stained glass pattern to make it 30" X 50". I am thinking Heat and Bond lite that I used on the Laura Heine projects will work. Thanks for the suggestion. Fabric selection is next, but not today.

I finished the flimsy of the pixel jellyfish! I hope to sandwich and start FMQing. Or I should say attempt FMQing. I just start in the middle and go for it. You can't really see the mistakes from 10 feet away, so I am doing okay!
