Good idea, nan2! I use oatmeal in meatloaf too, and no one notices!

Take a pound of ground beef and brown it in a sauce pan.
Drain the grease if you have any.
Put the cooked meat in a crock pot with a couple of cans of tomato sauce or diced tomatos. A chopped onion and a 16 ounce bag of mixed frozen veggies. Let it cook on low and enjoy it with can biscuits or crackers.

My Mom called it Hamburger Stew. We ate it every Monday night for supper (Dad worked late on Mondays and didn't like it)

If you have any leftover you can pot pie it also or fix noodles and pour it over noodles or spaghetti.

Super simple and very inexpensive too. We are having it for Supper tonight.

    Blessings to you,
    Sandi

When my kids were little I made what I called "Ranchburgers"
brown a pound of hamburger and a small onion, drain the grease, add a can of Campbells Bean & Bacon soup and some ketchup to taste, maybe a quarter cup, simmer and serve on buns. Yummy. Like sloppy joes with extra fiber.

I love my crock pot. Here is one of the family favorites:

Put frozen chicken breasts in the crock pot. Add a jar of salsa. Cook on low 6-8 hours. When ready for dinner, cook some rice. Serve the salsa chicken over the rice. Yum! Yum!

add to that a can of cream on anything soup..and a package of taco seasoning. !

The great thing about a crockpot, is you can buy cheaper cuts of meat, they all get so tender.
at least one night a week should be meatless.
one of my favorite purchases is the seal a meal. the food goes straight from the freezer to stove. i even boil the bags, no mess. but not to much in summer..!

Watterstide, I try to go meatless once a week, but my boys, almost 17 and 19, hate that! Usually I make a pizza that meatless night, lol! Sometimes I do buy those soybean crumbles, too, but they have gotten so expensive! Luckily, my boys deer hunt, so we do have venison, and Brother is raising some cows, so I will buy some of his beef too!
