I did take up washing and drying dishes when I retired, bought 2 new sets of dishes and don't want them chipped like the old ones.
He does the outside work, big yard with hedges to trim and lots of trimming.
We had hardwood floors put in a couple of years ago and believe me much easier to clean than carpets. Vinyl flooring in kitchen, bath and utiliy room. Makes cleaning faster and easier.
Still do deep cleaning but, I don't get carried away by doing it several times a month, as I use to do. I'm older now also.

I think if it were left up to my husband, I wouldn't be able to stand the clutter!!! I just had to relax my standards of clean after he retired.....Although I enjoy quilting a lot, it isn't my priority in life.....near the top though!! :D

I see it like this.....I could die at any given momemt and I don't want my last act on this earth to have been cleaning house! So I simply avoid that risk by not doing any house cleaning.

    That is so sweet!
