    This is so pretty - the colors, composition and quilting are all really spectacular. I've come back to look at it 3x's so far.

    Beautiful! Do you use needle turn applique for the initials? Love the prairie points!

    One of my hobbies has been calligraphy (lovely script), so I just drew these. There are a vast number of printed scripts available, many specifically for artwork. I think Dover Press has a book of them. Sign makers and other woodworkers books commonly have alphabets. In Victorian times, these were a standard on women's work.

    Yes, this is needleturn. It is not trapunto, where the stuffing comes from the back after the applique. I cut a piece of medium weight poly to shape and basted it to each letter before doing the applique. I am not sure if this is any easier than regular trapunto.

    My original plan was to have the prairie points on all 4 sides, but I decided 2 would be as effective. BTW, the flange and points are also from the same piece of fabric as the initials.
