Thanks, everyone. Batik flannels were just made for baby quilts. You are so fortunate to be waiting for a grandchild to arrive. I can't imagine how out of control I'd be. Kids quilts are the most fun to make. Can you say bug jars?

They're on my list! I have so far purchased 5 different sets of baby fabrics :-P I am also keeping a lookout for fabrics for 'I Spy' as well as the Bug Jars. This child will never want for warmth

I don't work with flannel but there is no reason not to use batiks for a baby quilt!
Imagine the look of butterflies, frogs, ducks, or other appliques made from batiks!

I can't wait to make a quilt out of these blocks and I've already decided I will assemble mine as a 4 x 4 block quilt with sashing and borders. So, since I needed four more blocks, I have been playing some more and here's what I've come up with.

All of these are from Quilterscache and clockwise from upper left, they are California, Card Trick, Wild Waves and Morning Stars.

    Dagny, these are amazing!

I fear that this quilt will soon grow to a 5 x 5! I can't seem to stop.

Your blocks are wonderful. I am also a big fan of batiks.

Dagny---Those are Gorgeous!!! The Card Trick is one of my favorite blocks to do. We did a Brown Bag Swap in my Quilt group and I had everyone do a batik card trick. Came out beautiful, at least the top did...I still haven't completely sandwiched it yet.

Thanks, Mish. I must confess I found the Card Trick difficult to assemble. It looks very simple, but I guess there's a reason it's called a "trick." I've always admired the block also, but have never made one before.

Ladies, if you can get your hands on the Quilt in a Day book by Eleanor Burns called Card Trick all the mystery on assembly will be over. She has the easiest and most foolproof method. I know I made two quilts from her pattern.
    Your blocks are wonderful.

I also have a easy way of putting it together. In fact..I just made one tonight for one of my other swaps.
