We have helicopters going over the house at 10:30pm??? They were there last night too. Sounds like a war. Fire crackers and helicopters... maybe we are secretly being invaded - nobody is suppose to notice a few helicopters now are they? We have neighbors can't keep their bills paid but they shoot off fireworks all summer... go figure.

The problem with the machine has been fixed! If only the problems with its carbon based unit were so simple to fix/correct!!Originally Posted by miriam
Chris if you are trying to fix a 301 you loosen up or take off the throat plate. Then put things where you want them and then hang on and then screw them back down.

A few days ago DH asked me what I want for my birthday....can you guess what I told him? "Take the Decorah Posten treadle irons and put on a top that I can use with all my various treadle heads." He took the challenge!! Here's the start. This won't be a MUTT like Dan was talking about, because it will be way too big and heavy to travel, but it will be a MUT. Isn't it cool? It's a true Frankentreadle!!

Super cool! love the rounded edges- so many times fabric or quilts seem to catch on the corners of the table. What a great hubby! LauraOriginally Posted by jljack

Chris did you get your 301 fixed? Remember, if you remove the throat plate to clean or for any reason, you have to make sure when you put the throat plate back that the position finger of the hook/race is in the little notch on the under side of your throat plate.Originally Posted by chris_quilts

Janice, the table is really nice! Please keep us posted on how you intend to make the table work with all your treadles! I know Cathy has a similar setup with the table she lets us use with a variety of machines when she hosts a TOGA at her house!Originally Posted by jljack

Janice, at my Wednesday night Strip Club, we all got a Jelly Roll and raced to see who could finish a top in the shortest time! It is a cool pattern. You take the 40 - 42 strips and sew them all end to end with a 45 degree seam . . . like doing binding! You end up with one very long connected strip! You then cut one end apart, and start sewing the '2' strips together. When the 2 strips are sewn into one double strip, you cut the end apart again, sew 4 strips together, and so on until you have made 5 seams! You end up with a really cute quilt top that only needs borders! There were 12 of us doing these strips - fabric everywhere - but, we all finished our whole top in less than 3 hours! Very cute way to make a scrappy looking lap quilt! I think the quilts ended up around 56 by 66 inches depending on your borders!Originally Posted by jljack
