If You Had $2000.00, What Machine Would You Buy?

Absolutely a Bernina. The stitches are perfect, and it sews and sews and sews... and all the other reasons listed above. Mine is an older model, bought new in 2000, without the embroidery function. It keeps me quilting. It's solid and loyal; quiet and strong; versatile and trustworthy... for me it was like finding a Good Man.

The reason there are so many brands - no one machine works for everyone. Go to some dealers - take a test drive - determine what feels right to you. Personnally, Janome works best for me - and of course I think they are the best.Originally Posted by pvquilter

I purchased a Janome 9700 in the fall and I love it. I had a Janome MC8000 for about 20 years, never had any problems, didn't even have it serviced in all that time. That was good enough advertisement for me to buy another one.

I love my Janome 6600 but I would strongly advise to test drive different
machines and see what you like best and make sure you can get it serviced
where you live.

Now that you are probably thoroughly confused, I'll add my thoughts. If I had 2000.00 I would most likely start seriously looking for a good used long arm. I would start looking at all the newspapers and Craigslists in areas I am willing to travel too. There are some other sources online as well. But that is just me. I am always looking for a bargain.
