"you just might be the one"--the monkees

it was playing on the radio, back in 1967, when then-boyfriend-now-hubby turned to me and sang along with it, and declared it "our song".

second favorite? "i only have eyes for you"--the flamingos, just because...

You won't believe this but, I just read the lyrics to this song for the first time. I googled it. I never knew what it meant. My DH and I have only ever heard the music without the lyrics. It is beautiful music and has always meant "Everlasting Love to us." Because of that, I will chose to forget the lyrics and continue to love the beautiful music for the many many years we have left together to continue to love each other. Boy one just never knows and that shows that sometimes ignorance can be bliss. :) :) :)

When there are so many good songs from the 70's and 80's I'd have to add:
Build Me Up Buttercup by the Foundations
    Free Bird by Lynard Skynard
    I Can't Drive 55 by Sammy Hagar
Go Rest High on the Mountain by Vince Gill
    Margaritaville by Jimmy Buffet

So many good ones. Now you've gone and done it. I'm gonna wake up the house at 6:10 am playing oldies.

Blueberry Hill by Fats Domino -- as teenagers, a gang of
us went to our swimming hole, cranked up the car radio----just brings back memories.

Last Date by Floyd Crammer. just like the way
    he plays piano.
