I guess that means I can't sew in the middle of the night in my jammies any more

That is wonderful! Hate to say it, but there's a little bit of truth in there. I think I'd better go do the breakfast dishes quick and smack on some makeup~!

I remember my mother taking this to heart. But that was in the 50s & just the "right" thing to do. If I started doing this my husband was keel over when he came home!

Dang! Now, how can I hide those dishes so nobody will know? Well, off to the shower and then a wardrobe sweep to find something that qualifies as "proper" wear for a day of sewing.

Don't all of you people do that each time you're ready to sew? I certainly do, LOL.

I wear lipstick to weddings and funerals. Even then I wear a pair of my "good" slacks. It's jeans, T shirt and slippers or old hiking socks for me. When I'm really fixed up I look for a T shirt that doesn't have a logo on it. I, too, have no dresses in my wardrobe.

Oh, and don't for get the athletic or hiking footwear. It's comfort for me in my old age.
