Worked at public library (technical side), secretary for public utility, computer specialist for same, retired then worked as medical transcriptionist for 10 years from home. Disabled (knee replacement infection) since 2006. Pretty much worthless these days. Sew/quilt to keep sane!

Please don't call yourself "worthless". I'll bet you mean the world to that little one in your avatar. If you do nothing but share thoughts with everyone on the quilting board, you're filling one of life's greatest roles: friendship. Besides that, you're quilting - need I say more?

I was a social worker for a few years before having my 3 kids, who are now in their 30's. I've been a "retired" stay-at-home mom since they grew up. Full-time wife of 39 1/2 years, too. I stayed busy and was never bored. Lots of crafts, reading, a little volunteering. I feel very lucky that I was able to stay home with my kids.

I'm a respiratory therapist too :) And I agree with quilting being a sanity keeper! I am also a wife (16 years in July!) and Mom to two daughters (ages 10 and 14) This all keeps me busy!

Dishwasher, chef, prep cook, and anything else in the kitchen. Laundry, maid, dog groomer, refuse control manager, office manager( I keep everyones schedules and make their appointments. I'm also a very reliable taxi service. Before children I as an accountant and a waitress. I think all of us domestic goddesses really do way more than we are credited. Have a beautiful day.

I'm 63 this year, and recently retired from working in Medical Administration in a large teaching hospital. I now work part-time, as well as looking after one grumpy old man, four dogs, and a very messy house. Incidentally, I always blamed everyone else for the mess. However, since retiring from fulltime work, I'm sorry to tell you that most of the mess is MINE!

I retired about 8 years ago as a Postal worker after 23 years of beating the street in the hot summers and cold winters and selling stamps and etc at the window.
Now,since my retirement check barely covers my car payment, I cook and sell Cinnamon Rolls and bierocks for spending money to support my quilting habit.
I'm also a Mother of 4 grown (not necessarily Grown Up) kids and I am a stepmother to my Avatar, Killer and a wife to my husband.
