And, those lovely batiks need to be seen, too... I can't call it stitch in ditch, or 1/4" quilting, as I think sid is too close, and 1/4" is too far, hence 1/8"...lol...ah well, that is why we all are unique, eh?..
Good luck, and I know there will be others along who will have lots of great quilting ideas for you!!

PS Now on the borders, I think a design that picks up designs in your quilt would be lovely...
   As another "old Fashioned" hand quilter, I agree 100%, but then I'm an 'ole lady' anyway. I love 'outline' quilting, as it brings out the beauty of both fabric & design. So some may say 'ugh' about mine too.

I have to add to the others! It is so pretty!!

Is the backing a plain fabric, or is it printed? Have you considered tracing a quilting pattern on the back and kind of "ignoring" the front? I am sure there's a term for that, but .... I always think that looks really neat, it's two quilts in one!

Ashley I heard about that as well in one of the quilt magazines and I think its a great idea when you can't figure out what to do with the front. That is one of the most gorgeous quilts I have ever seen!!!!!

Stunning quilt!!! You did an awesome job on the piecing!!! My suggestion also, echo quilt it about 1/4 inch from the seam, and maybe a flying geese or triangular quilting on the border....
And my two cents, I never have a problem hand quilting through batiks...THey are pretty much all I use... Waiting for pics when it is quilted!

I also agree with Kiffie and like the motto "less is more." Your quilt is beautiful and in my opinion too much or too detailed quilting could detract from the pattern.

Beautiful quilt. As I don't do any hand quilting, I can't give you advice on that, but can't wait for you to share pictures when you're done. I love it.
