I don't take mine in unless there is something not working correctly. I oil and clean myself and there reallly isn't anything extra they do that you can't do. Unless of course its computerized.

Oh my! I feel that is very high? I took three of my machines in this summer & they cost about $65.00 each. Pluss I was told up front what it would be & if they needed fixing they would all me to get the OK from me.

my Janome 10001 cost me $ 145. to have it serviced. I do not take it in every year as I clean it and take care of it myself in between times. When I owned my Kenmore years ago I never serviced it as it was much easier to take apart and do myself

The Viking dealer in my town charges 90.00 to look and clean the machine. Parts extra.

The Brother/Singer dealer in Flint charged me 130.00 when I took one there.

Needless to say, they dont go in yearly.

$0.00 before this board never knew you would take it in for yearly mantiance, guess i figure it isn't broke don't fix it. my favorite machine to use is a 24 year old new home i keep it cleaned and oiled when she lets me know she needs it. i suppose with all the computer stuff nowadays they need more up keep. i hardly use the basic janome i have cause it is newer with the digital stuff on it. i just want to sew and get it done and doing the button this then button that drive me up the wall.guess i like the old manual machine better anyday.my new home and me just know each other i guess.

    I think it's around $90. I only have it done every 2 years. I have a Janome 6500.

I had mine cleaned/tuned a few months ago and paid $75.00. What you paid seems very high.

I do my own maintanence. But when I buy an old one I take it in. The most I've paid has been $25. But my dealer is an exception. He has his business because he loves it and loves helping us with our machines and "hobby."

I pay $78 for the yearly cleaning. Sometimes I do it twice a year, especially when I am sewing a lot. I paid a lot for my Viking and I think I should keep up with the cleaning.
