Beautiful quilt and what a wonderful story!
I hope you let us see it finished and also when you send it so we can be sure to watch the news, etc. I wouldn't be surprised if he did showed it on air. That would be so exciting for you!

I think your quilt is very nice. It is so thoughtful of you to do something like this. "Random Acts of Kindness" are sometimes misunderstood. I know the feeling of wanting to do something for someone I'm not really "friends" with. It's just a feeling of gratitude or admiration. I'm sure he will love it and be very proud to have it. I hope you get pictures also. I have a little folder that I keep with photos of my quilts as I give them to unexpected recipients. It gives me joy every time I look at them. God bless you!

Even though I have never met Richard Schlesinger, I have had contact with him before. In 2006, I sent him a quilt for his birthday, and he responded with a wonderful letter telling me how much he loved that quilt. At the point, I had not done any hand stitching. I had only tied my quilts. Since then, I have quilted quite a few and wanted for him to see the improvement in my skills.
Since I do not work, I can devote as many hours as I like to my hand work, and it seems quite likely that this project will be done before the end of April.

Wow is right! Two quilts for him? I thought he looked familiar and would love to learn how your beautiful work is received.
Please post his response and any photos of it and with him if you're lucky enough for that to happen! Your generosity deserves to be congratulated.
