Just a thought...Connecting Threads is showing some lovely. light fabrics on their website right now. You could do worse than to use them as the are shown....they would make a very nice quilt like the one you chose. Very sweet pattern by the way. Let us know how it turns out. Good luck.

I once neede 9 shades of grey. No sweat...so I thought. I bought a zillion greys to get 9 that actually were compatible.I learned that when trying to coordinate colors it helps to carry swatches of what you already have with you.

your confidence has taken a hit! Spend some time with your stash or at the fabric store and look at some printed fabric. Find some that you really like and look at the color combinations in it. Use it to buy fabrics for your project (even if you don't use that fabric). If you liked them in the print, chances are you are going to like them together in your quilt.

Fabric Galore

This quilt looks like a good candidate for a jelly roll quilt. Pick the family of colors you like and then buy a roll with those colors. It takes most of the choices out of your hand and I'm sure it will be adorable.

I saw this & made it up using a jelly roll & a few extra coordinating fabrics. Gave it to my client for her newest granddaughter. She liked it & the parents also liked it.

I went to two LQS's and couldn't find a jelly roll that I liked. They all seemed so dark.

So, I went back to my original plan of buying the main fabric and co-ordinating fabrics and then adding. I have attached a picture of what I have so far. Some purchased, some from my stash. I know I need to get different yellows for sure, but what do you all htink of the fabrics so far. (I'm tough...I can take it!).
Also, there is a light teal dot in the main fabric...should I introduce that?
The orange print along the bottom is going to be the ribbon. Any help or comments appreciated!

I really like your fabric selections - I think they work well together! I wouldn't incorporate the teal; I think the quilt will be more effective if you keep it to primarily orange/green. (I would use the fabric on the left, I just wouldn't add any more primarily-teal fabrics).

My only concern would be with the ribbon. I think it's too close in tone to the other orange fabrics, so it won't stand out enough. Of the fabrics here, I would either use the bright orange (4th from the left), or the green swirl (6th from left) for the ribbon. They stand out a bit more.

Bree123: what a wonderful website. I had so much fun putting in different colors to see what would come up. I was impressed with the pictures for gray and for black flowers - really gave me some ideas for future quilts!
