In a Maria Shell class she urged us to try the 60 cm and I love it. The one caveat I have on all rotary cutters is make it one that shuts the blade automatically, as soon as you take your hand off it, ie. the Olfa Ergonomic cutters.
I think it is dangerous to have the models you must purposefully click to the closed/safe position...one day you are going to forget and that exposed blade will get you!

They do - I've had my KAI 5045 for over 25 years and it's FAR more ergonomic than that Olfa one because you don't have to squeeze any handle to use it. When you press it down on the mat, the sheath automatically retracts and the blade is exposed. When you lift it off the mat, the sheath slides back down. I absolutely love this cutter! I'm so glad this was the one recommended to me when I took my first quilting class all those years ago. I used that Olfa one when I worked at my LQS and didn't like it nearly as much as my KAI.

The only one I use is the Fiskars--mat, scissors and rotary cutter. 1. They have the lifetime guarantee 2. Several items belonged to my Mother and 3. I can buy them for a more reasonable price.
I have just sent my information for replacing my scissors as they now only cut paper. I bought them in1999 and used them for quilt cutting only. Was also given a mat and rotary recently.
