    Hi Loretta:
I did mention a sewing machine or two on my list but I actually have 4 machines that I'm looking at right now plus an antique machine in our family room downstairs, a featherweight in the closet downstairs and a Singer Thrashing machine with all kinds of bells and whistles but it's a worthless piece of junk. When our grand nephews come over and want to sew or make something for their mom or grandma they use the Singer Thrashing Machine. I guess it's OK for kids to learn on. I'm spoiled with my Memory Craft and my Brother machine that I use for classes and quilting on the run. :-o

I was watching a sewing video and the instructor mentioned that a collection of sewing machines was 3 or more  I guess owning 3 myself, I did not consider it to be a collection yet, until I purchase the other 2 or 3 I really want

    I must have:

    1) sewing machine- love my new Juki 98Q, getting acquainted with my Rose embroidery machine
    2) iron & board
    3) cutting mat & rotary cutter
    4) scissors- 1 at mat, 1 at iron, 1 at machine and 1 at bed (where I lay out my stuff)
    5) flat head pins
    6) lipped ruler
    7) garbage can handy for snippets
    8) tote for adding scraps
    9) lights- overhead, lamp, one by machine- need lots of light
    10) phone- I get calls when I work.

I don't eat in my room, I worry about spilling. If I had a real drink I would be pushing the project off the bed and sleeping on it. Sometimes I will have a Pepsi and a snack and look at a book, but I always pick up after so I don't chance to make a mess.

I like the silence but I have been looking for a CD player so I can have music. I would listen to just about anything but I would rather have a tv to listen to- my hgtv or lifetime.

    corks.

Not an issue here. The goils go back to their Mom's house most of the time, the times they are here, I don't sew (until after they go to bed). My studio is the top floor of a small building out back. Nobody bothers me. I open the windows, listen to the sounds of the neighborhood, the boids flitting in the trees, fire engines rushing by, the sounds of distant gunfire in the 'hoods to the east... you know, magic sounds...

P.S. Appreciate those kids sounds. They go away much too fast.

I'm only starting so but here's mine

    Machine
    rotary cutter
    scissors
    cutting mat
    iron/ironing board
    starch
    fabric
    directions
    rulers
small bucket for when I snip the threads, I can just put them in there and then dump when I'm done sewing. This was a bucket for PlayDo that I confiscated.
