Facebook is way too public and it is extremely fast and furious! I joined to be able to win quilting stuff by leaving comments for the different bloggers and product vendors. I was dizzy trying to keep up. Wasn't worth it for me. I opted out.

erstanx947...but why not e-mail, since it is seen only by you and the recipient, hopefully.

I had a Facebook "friend" take some kind of silly survey and posted that I was a liar. When I questioned her why she would do that she said, "It was a just a joke, everybody that knows you knows better." I reminded her that I was looking for a job and a prospective employer did not KNOW me. I immediately blocked everything/everyone on my profile. Linked In is strictly professional info. I do my keeping up by e-mail only.

Facebook is just "okay". It can be a terrible waste of time. Having moved to another part of the state, though, it is a way I keep in contact with friends far away. And, I keep in touch with one of my very busy daughters. The games don't appeal to me at all. Oh, and I have friended some quilters like Alex Anderson and Eleanor Burns and have enjoyed reading their posts.

Regardless, caution is the word......

yeah, I would like to know too why it is so great. All that social networking scares me.

And what is the matter with good Ol' email?

Guess I am behind the times. Don't use a cell phone, don't own a digital camera or know how to post pix on the internet. But I am still surviving.

Hope you had a great holiday.

Great way to keep in touch with family and friends. A lot of my younger cousins are also on FB, so it has been fun to keep up with them and their children. Also, have been in touch with high school friends. I also hide any games that I find. My grandchildren are also on, so I get to have almost daily contact with them. I have to be careful not to write anything on there that would embarrass them ... no posting baby pictures!
