We teach the Pepper Dish as a beginner quilt and have had some beautiful ones made. With the Niemeyer method you have your paper and your cut out pieces, and then you just sew on the line. People don't seem to have a problem doing this.
Her patterns are FABULOUS, but personally, I wouldn't say they are for beginners.
Never had a class in PP. Bought Carol Doaks' book and watched her in the Internet. I love it!

Give it another go but ditch the freezer paper. I love pp and I'm new to this game.

I have fabric with all the lines drawn on it. It is a crazy quilt. There are 12 blocks. You cut them apart and sew your fabric pieces to it. There is no paper involved.

I bought it in one of the fabric stores in one off the little towns out by Lancaster Pa. a couple of years ago. I have tons of scraps. Just have so many projects to do.

Took a pp class a few years ago. I am a little afraid to start it..

Carol Doak also has a Teach Me to Paper Piece DVD that is excellent. I bought it and love it. I have even joined her Yahoo group and she has so many free patterns on there

Don't give up on paper piecing. Next project in paper piecing will go smoother now that you have had your first experience. Keep quilting no matter what method you use. Jeanniebelle

I have been teaching paper piecing for many years,, the freezer paper method is NOT something I suggest for a beginner class! First off, you are not piecing on the paper!
The freezer paper method is a WHOLE different fish to fry!

Go to Carol Doak's website, or even quilter's cache and check out their tutes on real paper/foundation piecing!

Then give it a go...you might like it more than you thought!
