Mine lost suction too. Now I have a permanent bar . I still have a problem getting up from sitting. DH put in a small bar across from the commode.

I read somewhere to use some rubber cement on the back side of your ruler and it will hold it steady for you while you cut. I'm going to try that, when get to the store and buy some rubber cement. Just put it on several spots on the back lightly and let dry and I think it should peel off easily too. Maybe some hot glue from a glue gun would work too.

Yes, I bought one at the quilt shop for about $16. then I saw them at Harbor Frieght for $4. I do like mine for the longer rulers.

I also have one of these and love it. Super grip works well when I want to use a wider ruler than this one. Makes a great team.

I use it and love it, but I went to Wal-mart and got mine. A heck of a lot cheaper too. They are located by the Pharmacy in the section that I call the Handicap section. Not sure if it is called that or not.

The Gypsy made for quilting is much, much better than the cheaper gripper shown in the picture.

I think one problem with using this item in a tub or shower is that it doesn't hold well if you have to attach it to a wall made up of small tiles, especially ones with a shiny surface. I wouldn't trust it to not come loose. We tried ours several times but I really didn't have confidence in it.

Might work well to hold rulers in place, though!

Hi I use one like that in my shower. If you get to go to either Hancocks or Joann look for ruler grippers they are smaller and you can use one or two on the rulers. Maria
