i use gingher nippers or a scaple, i have had great luck with both, except the scaple, now it does a wonderful job, i have just got my self, but not the fabric, the one i use has a crescent blade also like MsEithne, then i use curved tweezers to pull out the left over thread, never did think of tape, it will be much easier.

Me too!! I also have the white handled Clover -- I need the larger handle to grip. I use it to start ripping a seam and then fly with the rotary cutter.

Don't know about brands, but I just went out and got 5 of the one I had because I am always losing the darn things!

The technique is to hold each side of the seam and stroke down the middle. Works for me. Bought mine in a package of three for less than $3 and gave two as gifts. You'll find them near the eyelash curlers in the cosmetics section at any big box store or pharmacy that carries that sort of thing.

What I use also. With my fibro and arthritic hands the longer handle works well too. Cheap as they are they last forever - and one day!

I agree, I bought it after researching and found so many 5 star reviews! I love that it doesn't roll off the table.

I love my Fons and Porter one. I do have arthritic issues and this one works great for me.

I wrote to F&P complaining that the cover does not stay on ---never heard from them.

I buy mine from my veterinarian.

However, you don't have to go through a doctor or veterinarian! Do a Google on "disposable scalpels for sale" and you'll find lots of vendors.

For that matter, you can get them through Amazon as well.
