    Most all of the machines use to come with a joining foot as one of the standard feet included, which is the same as the SID foot. If it is labeled joining foot it cost a lot less.

    Thanks for the info.I tried SITD ...once. Wasn't a pretty sight! Maybe I'll look into the Bernina foot.BTW....I also have a great dealer, tho 5o miles away....in Millersburg,Oh.

    Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us! I have this foot also but haven't had a chance to use it. I will fire mine up later on this week. I love it when you guys critique a new tool or book.

    My Bernina foot 5 looks like it might be a SID or joining foot, it's got the flange in the middle of the foot. Must give it a try and if that doesn't work the walking foot sole sounds like it sure will, thanks for this info.

    I paid about $40 for mine. However, I am in New York and I had to order it from Connecticut so I probably paid a little bit more than in other places.
