Has anyone thought about this?

I so like your idea! As I have no family or close relatives, I will have to write this down and frame it for a wall plaque, hoping my last breath is right under it.

I just asked my husband what he would do with it. He said give them to my DILs. He is just thinking machines. I have eight. He wants to keep the serger and one old Singer. I assume the girls would figure it out and give some to my sister. But, I am only 47. Maybe I will use it all up before I die!

I'm trying to use what I have and not buy more unless I need it. I inherited some fabrics from a friend that passed away- quite a bit of fleece that I didn't know how to use. I have been making scarves with it and hope to give some of those away. I've used a few of them myself.
The rest, I'm guessing my children will either keep, sell or give away.
I am working on going through things in general and donating things I don't use and have no need for anymore.

I am only 56 and have been trying to get it into both my daughters' and husband's head that my stuff is worth money and to sell it, after the girls get what they want. If they want anything. I do need to go in and and get my old joanne fabrics labeled as such...and even it is some of the old and is fairly decent fabric. I made a bedspread with some of their fabric and it is still nice, except for where a cat tore a hole in it.
I have also been wanting to just get rid of some of the junk here...just so my kids don't have a lot to deal with. I never want them to have to go through what I did with my MIL...we moved/help move her 4 times in just a few years, then the final move to a nursing home and I had to clean out the apt. Not fun. She didn't quilt or anything like that, but she didn't get rid of anything.

My friend and I was talking about that yesterday! I want my quilting friends to get together and split things up between them and then donate the rest to a church perhaps that can use it. Of course, I will need to leave names and ph no#'s for my dear hubby, I may be slow to do this and I still want to get use out of it all!
