    I still sew it on the front and blind stitch it on the back. My long armer does a beautiful job of machine stitching it to the front, but I haven't taken the time to practice doing that. Of course I am jealous of her doing it her way!

    I machine stitch to the back and hand sew to the front - I am more confident of my control with hand sewing, and I like to be able to see the front as it is being bound so that I know it will look neat when finished.

    I use a 1/4 inch foot for machine stitching the back and have never had a problem - I don't do FMQ so don't have a walking foot

    I love binding - the finished article appears as you work your way round

    That's the way one of our quilters at our retreats does hers and I have started doing it that way too. I think it is slower but looks nicer. I think she called it "porcupine" method, don't know if she made that term up or not.

    I stitch on back first, then sew down on front with a decorative stitch so it is the same on both sides.
