I would definitely use the darker one. I don't use a separate binding, but rather fold my backing over and use it as a binding. If you use a separate binding, then I use the light as the backing and the darker as the binding. I think the sashing would look much much better with a dark binding around it.

Me, too....I like the darker. But if YOU like the lighter color, go with it.

I like the darker fabric! Your quilt is going to be beautiful no matter which fabric you chose. :)

The darker would look better just for light next to dark, but I don't think the color combination is right. I have a lot of yards in both and I don't want to have to wait until I can afford to purchase something else. So what to sacrifice to want or like? Help. Blessings, Ruth
This may sound really silly but I tend to use a darker backing if I am putting a heavy batting in the quilt and use a lighter color if I use a light weight batting. I guess I think of darker as heavier!

Both would work, but I like the darker one the best.

I like this idea. The darker as binding goes better in bringing out the blocks in the top but also looks very nice in contrast to the lighter which would be nice for the backing. It would practically make the quilt reversible (if you could bear to hide the beautiful top...)

Use both background fabrics in the back.
