The JD quilt is great, and starting with a theme seems a good idea, instead of looking at the stash and trying to make decisions.
I don't do theme's but I was pleased to see a new range of fabric (well new here in Aust.) with International Harvester tractors. My family had an engineering business and for many years held the International Truck and Tractor dealership, would be fun to do quilts for my grandson whose dad worked in the business, xxjen

Thank you. you have given me an idea for finishing off the quilt for my GN. I was stumped for a while after doing the center blocks. It is a great quilt you have and doing themes helps you in deciding what to do.

Adorable quilt! I like doing theme quilts especially for a special person if they like something in particular. I made an attic windows quilt with Macaw parrots in jungle trees for my Guatemalan born son. Made a fishy quilt with lots of orange for one son, a snake quilt for another son. Yes, he asked for a snake quilt.

I LOVE your John Deere themed quilt!
Whenever I see works of your type, I think: I want to do that!
But, then I forget when I am pulling fabrics.
My quilts tell a story, usually -- does that count as a themed quilt?
I know some think I get over gushy about how much I appreciate seeing all the creativity and inspiration that I find here on the board, but most of the basic quilts I see here are really beyond what I ever think to do.
They all look so organized and planned and very special because of it.
I really enjoy all the sharing that the Quilting Board has brought out in all of us.
    Thank you for sharing! <wave>
